Great improvement over prior SkyBell

The price was a bit better than other dealers and they have the silver color we were seeking. Installation of the new VDB770 was fairly easy. If your alarm service does not include Video Analytics, get that before installation. It is a requirement for setup. Video captures are awesome! There is a bit of audio lag so expect that and you will not be disappointed. The speaker for conversing with front door guests is a bit weak too, but workable. Happy in spite of these weaknesses and glad we made the upgrade! Regarding the SkyBell failure, we have had 2 over a 5 year period. The plastic cover over the motion sensor crumbled and caused each SkyBell to trigger countless numbers of worthless videos. It is a design flaw using sun sensitive plastic as a sensor cover. The VDB770 does not have a motion sensor, and uses Video Analytics to trigger captures. Much better technology!

If you are looking for a doorbell with video analytics and touch less this is it. It also comes with three different angle brackets for a variety of installs.

Second time around.

This is my second order for an ADC-VDB770. The first one, ordered 4 weeks ago never worked quite right. So after ordering a replacement, I called and spoke with Dan. We arranged to send the old one back. My account was credited the morning it was received. The second unit works great by the way.

Hot Door Bell

This new and improved Alarm.com video doorbell is much better than the older model. The video resolution and clarity are awesome. The ability to detect a person is great as it will not pick up cars driving by. The installation took a good two hours and I needed to contact my security company to have the account upgraded for video analytics. My doorbell transformer had the minimal specs and since it also supplies power to my house number lights I was concerned that I may need to upgrade it. The doorbell worked correctly on install, but my indoor legacy mechanical chime did not work until 24 hours later, which I assumed allowed the battery in the doorbell to be fully charged. The mounting base also serves as a heat sink which explains why the unit runs hot. I measured the case temperature at 115 F, too hot to hold on the side for a long time. The front doorbell button was ok to touch.

Great Upgrade from Skybell HD

My Skybell IR motion sensor deteriorated and was useless. This is a great upgrade! Perfect service from Low Voltage Supply! Slow UPS delivery.
